“No Place on Earth” Holocaust Film Screened at UK Hospital

For nearly a year-and-a-half, almost 40 men, women and children hid themselves in an underground Ukrainian cave in an attempt to escape the Holocaust.

Amazingly, everyone in the five Jewish families survived.

Their story has been turned into a documentary titled "No Place on Earth." It was screened for free today at UK Hospital.

Dr. Michael Karpf, who co-hosted the film with his wife, is grandson of one of the survivors. She was nine years old when the group went into the cave.

"It really is the story of human endurance, human spirit, and we’re all about human endurance," Dr. Karpf said. "We’re all about trying to keep people’s faith and hope up at the hospital."
