Nicholasville Police Department helps out with Trooper Island

BURKESVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Nicholasville Police Department spent the week at the KSP Trooper Island summer camp helping kids have fun and presenting a generous gift.

Throughout the week, the Nicholasville Police Department posted videos on Facebook of some of the activities at the summer camp, from loading up a bus of kids to go to Trooper Island to scavenger hunts and cardboard boat races.

Campers got to experience the camp’s “alarm clock” of police sirens driving by the cabins.

Wednesday night featured the Blue Light Ceremony, which honors fallen troopers and officers.

Additionally, the Nicholasville Police Department donated $4,000 to the KSP Trooper Island Camp. A ceremonial check was presented to a KSP trooper as campers celebrated the donation and the fun they have had.
