Nicholasville firefighters raising money for comrade battling cancer

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Not that you needed further proof that firefighting is a brotherhood, but here’s another example coming from Jessamine County. Nicholasville firefighters are selling T-shirts and holding a St. Patrick’s Day brunch to raise money for Lexington Firefighter Matt Logsdon, who’s battling stage four cancer.

The Nicholasville Fire Department has custom t-shirts made every year for St. Patrick’s Day, but this year the firefighters decided to make it a printing with a purpose to help a fellow firefighter. The T-shirts say, “Brothers in Battle #TeamLogsdon.” The cost is $20 per shirt. To purchase a T-shirt, you can stop by City Station 3 at 1031 Elizabeth Drive in Nicholasville, or buy one through the Facebook page for Nicholasville Firefighters IAFF Local 4289.

The St. Patrick’s Day brunch will be held on Thursday, March 17, at The Break Room at 1178 Manchester Street in Lexington. Doors open at 9:00 a.m.
