Nicholas County judge-executive dies
NICHOLAS COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The judge-executive for Nicholas County has died following a short illness.
According to Mathers-Gauche Funeral Home, 61-year-old Mike Pryor died on Monday at the University of Kentucky hospital.
Pryor served as judge-executive for Nicholas County since 2013.
He was an active member of the Bluegrass Area Development District.
The organization sent out a statement on Pryor’s passing that read, in part: “Mike honored the trust bestowed upon him by the citizens of the Nicholas County and the Commonwealth working up to the last week before Thanksgiving before attending to his own medical needs at the UK Markey Cancer Center.”
Funeral services for Pryor are pending.
