Nice Again Tuesday. A Winter Storm is Ahead

A very nice day for the area.  One more nice day to lull us into a sense of “comfort”, before our mid-late week stormy weather.  40s today.  50s tomorrow.  A few spots south could see 60 Tuesday.  Heavy rain potential moves in for Wednesday and Thursday.  We will likely see a couple of waves of heavy rain.  The slow-mover will likely drop a lot of rain.  Unfortunately, the potential for freezing rain (ice) is there as well.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy and a low of 27.  Southeast winds at 5 mph.

Tuesday: a south wind at 10 mph, and a mix of sun/clouds, and a high of 54.

Wednesday: more clouds and rain moves in, probably late morning to early afternoon.  A high of 48.  Rain chance 100%

Thursday- cloudy with a 100% chance of rain, heavy at times.  A high of 48.

Thursday night: The bottom drops out.  Temperatures drop and rain changes over to a variety of precipitation.  A wintry mix, sleet, snow, and…freezing rain.

Friday: Precipitation lingers.  Probably light snow in Lexington.  A cold high of 29.  North winds 10-15.

Saturday: Fairly sunny but cold.  A high of 32

Sunday: Better.  Mostly sunny and a high of 42.

Monday: Partly cloudy and a high of 36.
