New traffic signal placed at West Maxwell and Merino in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Drivers are being cautioned about a flashing traffic light in Lexington.

The Division of Traffic Engineering has installed a new traffic signal at the intersection of West Maxwell and Merino Street and has placed it in ‘flash mode.’

The signal will become functional on Tuesday, May 28.

The city says the signal is intended to improve safety by reducing the number of angle collisions, improving pedestrian connectivity, providing more visibility for emergency vehicles and helping lower speeds through the residential area.
