New charges for couple accused of keeping special needs daughter in cage
RICHMOND, Ky. (Richmond Register) — According to the Richmond Register, a couple who was arrested in June on unlawful imprisonment charges is now facing additional charges related to sex abuse.
The Register cites indictments from a Madison County grand jury, which shows new charges against Tito Felix of vulnerable victim incest, rape, and sexual abuse.
Shannon Felix faces complicity to the same charges.
Tito and Shannon Felix were originally charged with unlawful imprisonment following a welfare check on their special needs daughter in June.
ABC 36 originally reported that the couple had locked their daughter, who suffers from fetal alcohol syndrome, in a wooden cage so “they could get some sleep.”
According to the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, the couple could face up to 70 years in prison if convicted.
