New round of flooding in parts of eastern Kentucky

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Call it insult to injury.  Periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms triggered a new round of flooding in parts of eastern Kentucky still cleaning up from recent historic flooding.

Images shared on the Paintsville/Johnson County Emergency Management Facebook page showed flooding in the Williamsport/Boons Camp area of the county.

There was also new flooding in parts of Floyd County.  An image shared by Floyd County Fiscal Court on Facebook showed flooding in the Abbott Creek area.

Most of the rain was forecast to move-out overnight.
