New Information In Lexington Mother’s Murder

New information about the murder of a Lexington mother has come to light.

Court documents show that Jeffrey Jackson, 34, was extradited from Montgomery County jail in Ohio to Fayette County Detention Center Tuesday.

Lexington police said Jackson is accused of murdering Quantina Reed on March 27th.

Information, coming from court documents, said that Reed and Jackson argued the night of March 26th.

The documents said that Reed’s son saw Jackson leave in his mother’s car that night, then return about an hour later. Reed’s son said he then heard more arguing, but Reed told him ‘everything was fine’ and he fell asleep shortly afterward.

In the documents, it said dispatchers tried to get ahold of Reed via a contact number after an initial assault call.

Instead, someone identifying as ‘J’, Reed’s boyfriend, picked up and said he was in Orlando, Florida and could not help.

Shortly afterward, police found Reed’s body in her garage. The Fayette County coroner said she died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Court documents said an hour before police were told of the assault, Jackson’s sister received a call from her brother, telling her, "Quani is dead." He also said he was in Reed’s car.

Court documents said police pinged Jackson’s phone, and located it in Dayton, Ohio.

U.S. Marshals arrested Jackson the same day.

Jackson is scheduled to be arraigned in Fayette District Court Wednesday.
