Neighborhood reaches new heights with rides in hot air balloon
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Pinnacle neighborhood took community bonding to new heights Sunday night with the chance to ride in the Re/Max hot air balloon. Community member and real estate agent John Groft was able to reserve the iconic Re/Max hot air balloon and offer tethered rides.
Groft says 136 total people took a ride Sunday. He says 5 to 6 people could go up at a time and the rope allowed them to go up around 40 feet.
“I’m just excited to give back to the neighborhood,” says Groft. “I mean they have been so good to me that a lot of them have already said that this is really a neat feature to have and that none of them will be able to do a hot air balloon ride.”
Groft says the Pinnacle neighborhood usually enjoys food trucks together every other Sunday and he was happy to be able to bring them something even more special this Sunday.
