Nearly 50 new citizens welcomed to Lexington on Friday
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes helped welcome 46 new Americans who took the oath of citizenship a ceremony at her alma mater, Lexington Catholic High School.
The ceremony marks Grimes’ 90th naturalization as Secretary of State.
New citizens are encouraged to use GoVoteKY.com, the Commonwealth’s online voter registration portal, to register. Grimes reminded the new citizens and their families of the duties of citizenship, including voter participation, civic engagement, and using their voice to make a difference in the Commonwealth and nation.
The new citizens represented 29 different countries.
