NALC to hold 26th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive May 12

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Get your non-perishable food items ready for the 26th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will hold the drive on Saturday, May 12.

Stamp Out Hunger is the nation’s largest single-day food drive.

This week, letter carriers will be delivering grocery bags to customers as a reminder of the upcoming drive.

Donating is easy; all you have to do is put non-perishable food donations, in the provided grocery bag, near your mailbox on Saturday, May 12th.

All the donations collected in Lexington will be distributed to God’s Pantry, Catholic Action Center, and Lighthouse Ministries.

While all non-perishable donations are welcome, foods that are high in protein such as canned tuna, salmon, beans and peanut butter are most needed.

Canned fruits and vegetables, whole grain, low sugar cereals, macaroni and cheese dinners and 100% fruit juice also top the list of most needed items.
