My Old Kentucky Home State Park getting new manager

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (AP) — My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown is getting a new manager.

Kentucky State Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker announced Matthew Colin Bailey’s hiring Monday.

The Parks Department said Bailey is founder and president of the Green River Academy Preservation Society in his native Elkton and also founded the Guthrie Transportation Museum.

Bailey has worked as a research assistant at the University of Kentucky, for the state’s Division of Historic Properties and at Belle Meade Plantation Historic Site in Nashville, Tennessee.

He has most recently been lead designer and director of advertising at Willow Branch Partners in Franklin, Tennessee.

My Old Kentucky Home State Park includes the historic mansion called Federal Hill. John Rowan began construction of Federal Hill in 1795, and it was completed in 1818.
