Murder charge for Ohio man after body of missing man found

ASHLAND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Ashland say a missing man’s body was found Monday afternoon, and an Ohio man is being charged with murder in the case.

Officers say 21-year-old Justin Reeder was reported missing by his family on October 17th.  Police say Reeder’s body was found by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, working with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, on Tunnel Ridge Road in Lawrence County, Ohio.

Reeder’s body was turned over to the Boyd County Coroner’s office, where an autopsy is pending with the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office.

Ashland Police have charged 24-year-old Jacob E. Lane, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, with murder in connection to Reeder’s disappearance. Lane was arrested on Friday evening, and charged with murder, as well as burglary, under a separate investigation.

Lane was taken to the Boyd County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
