Mountain Movers Theatre Company to continue new season with Bright Star premiere

LOUISA, Ky. (WTVQ) – Theatre season continues as Mountain Movers Theatre Company (MOMO) debuts its latest production, Bright Star, on Thursday, July 16.

The Broadway story of love and redemption takes place in the American South during the 1920s and 1940s.

According to MOMO, “When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past—and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives.”

“The cast is comprised of professional theatre artists from as far away as Hollywood, CA to as near as Eastern Kentucky,” says Kim Willard, Artistic Director for the theatre. “You don’t want to miss this engaging bluegrass journey featuring live music from very talented individuals.”

The Garden Theatre in Louisa will host the show. Performances will be held on July 16-17, 20 and 22-24 at 7:30 p.m. A matinee show will be given on July 20 at 3 p.m.
