Motor home driver dies after chase in Rockcastle County

ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, KY. (WTVQ)- It is not every day you see a chase involving a motor home.

According to State Police, the driver of a motor home crashed through some construction barriers in Berea near a work zone on Interstate 75 in nearby Rockcastle County.

Vehicle Enforcement warned construction workers to get out of the way.

Officers say the motor home driver, John McCoy of Chesapeake, Ohio refused to stop.

Officers say McCoy eventually hit a police vehicle, and later, two sky lifts.

The motor home burst into flames.

Officers tried to remove McCoy but could not.

He died at the scene. No one else was hurt.
