Mother speaks out about her daughter’s murder

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A mother is speaking out about her daughter’s disappearance and death.

The Pulaski County Sherriff’s office says it found human remains early last week on Charter Oak Road. It believes the remains are LeeAnna Brumley.

Brumley’s mother, Anita Helton says she filed a missing persons report in June.

“She was missing, she wasn’t online and for my daughter that’s you know, that’s her lifeline,” said Anita Helton.

The sheriff’s office thinks Brumley was killed in late May.

Detective Jones say Brumley was staying with two people at a home. He says one of the people at the home was Danelle Powell. She was arrested on Thursday for Brumley’s murder.

Detective Jones says Brumley was shot, hit with a hatchet, and burned.

The sheriff’s office says it thinks two more men are involved.

Gerald and Corky Hendricks are already in jail for unrelated charges, but detective Jones says he thinks there will be enough evidence to prove they’re involved in Brumley’s death.

Brumley’s mother says her daughter was also a sister and a mother to a seven year old boy.

“She would do anything for anybody. If she was able to she would. She was a very, very good person,” said Helton.

Helton says she wants justice for her daughter. She plans on being at every court appearance.
