Mother of missing Magoffin County toddler speaks out
MAGOFFIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Search efforts continue for a missing toddler in Magoffin County.
Additional volunteers from outside the county are keeping the search alive.
“It’s like he just disappeared. Like he’s just gone. He was outside with his dad and we see he just went around the back of the house, and when he went around after, he was just gone,” said Samantha Moore, mother of 22-month-old Kenneth Neil Howard.
“I just feel like I’m in a daze. Like it’s just a nightmare,” said Moore.
Jason Lance is one of the volunteers helping out. The father of two doesn’t know Kenneth or his family, but he drove from Floyd County the minute he heard the news.
“I can’t relate because I couldn’t imagine. But, those two kids are my world. And I couldn’t imagine even thinking about it. So I can’t imagine what the family is going through.
The MaGoffin search and rescue coordinator says the terrain is tough because of hills and recent rain, but thanks to new volunteers and resources from outside the county, they’re able to keep hope alive and keep looking.
“Just keep looking. Don’t give up. He is there somewhere. Somebody knows something, there’s a sign, there’s something. And I’m so grateful from the bottom of my heart for everything everybody’s done,” said Moore.
The family says the father is offering a $5,000 reward for anyone with helpful information.
