Mother accused of leaving children home alone with no food

GRAY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Knox County mother is accused of leaving her six children home alone with no food for hours, according to State Police.

Investigators say the children ranged in age from seven months to 13-years old.  State Police say the children went to a neighbor’s house asking for food.

State Police say they found illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the home on Peppermill Lane in the Gray community.

38-year old Mary Meek, of Gray, was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to KSP.

She was jailed in Knox County.  The children were placed with another family member, according to State Police.
