Mostly sunny skies for the week ahead
We are starting the work week with temperatures peaking in the mid 90s and heat indices nearing the triple digits Monday and likely exceeding 100 by Tuesday. You will likely not need your umbrella this week, as we are tracking very minimal rain chances.
All eyes are on Hurricane Debby as it makes landfall in Florida Monday morning. A troughing system will steer it to the northeast, leading to possible historic rainfall and catastrophic flooding along the Georgia and South Carolina coasts early this week.
The hurricane will likely be downgraded to a tropical storm and make a northward shift toward central North Carolina and Virginia mid week. Currently, it is not looking like central Kentucky will see any rain from this storm. The ABC 36 Storm Team will keep you updated as the hurricane progresses.
