More winter weather on the way Thursday into Friday

Here we go again, another winter storm will be impacting central and eastern Kentucky. A Winter Weather Advisory is out for the entire region. This lasts until 7 PM Friday for central Kentucky, and until 7 AM Saturday for eastern Kentucky. A widespread 1-3 inches of snow is on the way, with higher amounts up to 2-4″+ will be possible in eastern Kentucky.
Timing things out
Thursday midday: Quiet start to the day. Temperatures climbing at or just above freezing.
Thursday late afternoon-evening: 1st wave moves in. Wintry mix & freezing rain possible in south-central Kentucky. Wintry mix & snow moves in further north.
Thursday night-Friday morning: 2nd wave moves in. Transition to all snow likely. Accumulation is most likely during this time period. Expect difficult travel beginning late Thursday.
Friday-Friday night: Off & on snow showers likely and temperatures drop. Snow showers more likely in the mountains of eastern Kentucky.
Bitter cold moves in Friday into Saturday. Morning lows Saturday morning will be in the low single digits, with wind chill values below zero likely for most locations. This will continue into Sunday morning as well before temperatures improve by Sunday afternoon.
