We aren’t expecting organized severe weather today like we’ve seen earlier this week, but there will still be isolated severe storms possible. It’s also not going to be as hot today either. Afternoon highs will only be reaching the mid-80s for most areas. However, it will stay muggy. This added moisture will help fuel some heavy downpours that will be possible today.

There is a Level 1 Severe Risk out for all of the ABC 36 viewing area due to isolated damaging wind gusts that will be possible. There is also a Marginal Risk, or a Level 1 out of 4 risk, for flash flooding for most of the area. Far southern Kentucky does have a Slight Risk (2/4) for flash flooding as well. We aren’t expecting as widespread of heavy rain, but isolated-to-scattered storms could produce enough rain to cause some minor flooding.

Rain and storms will being to exit overnight and that will lead to patchy dense fog developing by early Saturday morning. Saturday’s forecast as improved a bit. Rain chances won’t be as widespread as we are expecting less coverage area of the showers,. and storms as this system exits the area. Temperatures take a hit as well, staying into the low-to-mid 80s for most areas. Saturday night will be comfortable as well, with lows falling into the mid-60s.

Temperatures begin to heat up on Sunday. Afternoon highs will be reaching the low 90s in many spots. Sunday also will be a drier day as we lose the rain and storm chances into early next week.
