More rain and storms Wednesday

Meteorologist Dillon Gaudet has the latest in your full ABC 36 Storm Team forecast

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Happy Wednesday! We are tracking muggy conditions and more storm chances for your day today. The highest chance of rain will be midday through the afternoon and then another round will move in during the evening and early overnight hours. There is an isolated risk for flooding today, mainly in low-lying and flood prone areas. This will not be a widespread threat but don’t be caught off guard by minor street flooding and/or rising creeks and streams in areas that experience the heaviest downpours.

It will be feeling muggy once again in between the storm chances today as dewpoints will once again climb into the low 70s. Rain will exit to the east overnight and central Kentucky should be dry to start your Thursday.

A secondary front will pass through the region on Thursday. This will be the front that will usher in the pleasant feel on Friday that we’ve been talking about all week. Temperatures will reach the low-to-mid 80s on Thursday ahead of that front. Friday will be a different story though as we will struggle to get out of the mid-70s. Dewpoints will be much lower as well, likely in the low 50s for most locations.

The weekend will feature a few isolated rain chances but overall it will be dry and pleasant weekend. Late Saturday there will the chance of a few showers south and west of Lexington. Sunday will bring another isolated chance for a few showers. Temperatures will remain near-to-below average into the mid-to-upper 70s through early next week as well.
