Monroe Co. man charged with child sexual exploitation offenses

GAMALIEL, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say that 61-year-old James L. Holland was arrested Thursday at about 8:00 p.m. on charged related to the distribution and possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Holland was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

The investigation resulted in Troopers executing of a search warrant at Holland’s home. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination.

Holland is currently charged with one count of distribution and one count of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Each charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison. Additional charges are expected.

Holland was lodged in the Monroe County Detention Center.
