Mitch McConnell officially launches reelection campaign

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell kicked off his 2020 reelection bid on Wednesday with a three-minute Twitter video highlighting what he says he has accomplished for the state of Kentucky and the country.

In the video, McConnell touts his successful effort to block President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland, which helped reshape the court.

The video also features President Trump calling McConnell as a “rock-ribbed Kentucky leader” and “one of the most powerful men in the world.”

The 77-year-old McConnell is running for his seventh term and faces no Republican challenger yet.
