Mild temperatures continue ahead of rain chances
Meteorologist Dillon Gaudet has the latest in your full ABC 36 Storm Team forecast
Happy Thursday! What a beautiful stretch of weather across central and eastern Kentucky we have experienced this week. Temperatures will be pushing the mid-60s once again on Thursday ahead of rain chances heading into the weekend. Breezy rain showers will be possible late Thursday night into early Friday morning.
Rain chances on Friday are split across the viewing area. Southern and southeastern Kentucky have a higher chance of seeing rain, while areas along and north of I-64 have a lower chance. More widespread chances will arrive Friday night into Saturday morning. Rain chances will decrease into the afternoon hours on Saturday. We will likely see a temperature spike Saturday afternoon after rain chances decrease. Mid-to-upper 60s will be possible.
Sunday will feature just isolated rain chances and temperatures will be in the mid-50s as opposed to the 60s. This sets the stage for our next system will be rolling in heading into Monday.
An area of low pressure will sweep through the region on Monday into Tuesday. This will bring widespread breezy rain showers and the as the system exits to the east, we will see temperatures drop leading to a few flakes possible Tuesday morning. Accumulating snow is looking unlikely due to numerous factors including just how warm the ground has gotten from our recent “False Spring”. A few flakes will be possible though on the backside of the system as you head out the door on Tuesday. Temperatures will be cooler after this system exits as well. We will be tracking 40s likely for most with some areas possibly even colder.
