Middle School Students Help Pass New State Law
The new law declares October as anti-bullying month and and purple and yellow ribbons as the symbol of the movement.
Students chose purple and yellow since they are the school’s colors. They also said purple stands for domestic violence and yellow for suicide.
The kids made several trips to Frankfort to talk to lawmakers and hand out ribbons.
The bill passed the state house and senate and was then signed into law by Gov. Beshear on April 9.
