Michigan Men Arrested With Bogus Gift, Credit Cards
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two Michigan men are behind bars after police say they tried using fraudulent gift and credit cards in Nicholasville.
Lexington police say Amahd Carter Isaiah and Michael Eugene Livingston, Jr., both of Detroit, had hidden 30 of the bogus cards under the back seat and in a compartment under their vehicle’s console.
Officers say the cards had been tampered with, and that the financial information encoded on the magnetic strip did not match the information embossed on the front of the cards.
Police say the men were arrested after attempting to use the cards at a business.
Both were charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, false making or embossing of credit card, trafficking in financial information, and tampering with physical evidence.
They were taken to the Fayette County Detention Center.
