Mercer County woman pleads guilty to producing child porn

LEXINGTON, Ky.(WTVQ) – A Mercer County woman pleaded guilty on Tuesday for producing child pornography, according to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.

They say Anastasia C. Vandergriff, 37, pleaded guilty to a single count of producing child pornography and a co-defendant, Rafael W. Poynter, pleaded guilty to the same offense last week.

In their plea agreements, Vandergriff and Poynter admitted to sexually abusing a minor and producing videos of the abuse using a cell phone, according to officials.

Deputies tell us that the abuse was discovered in January 2017.

According to officials deputies received a complaint about a possible sexual assault.

When they searched Vandergriff and Poynter’s home deputies found a cell phone that had multiple videos depicting the sexual abuse, according to investigators.

Officials say they were perpetrated by Vandergriff and directed and filmed by Poynter.

Vandergriff is scheduled to be sentenced on June 3, 2019.

Poynter is scheduled to be sentenced on May 28, 2019.

Production of Child Pornography carries a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years.
