Medicaid card phone scam in Scott County

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is warning people about a Medicaid card phone scam designed to steal bank information.

Deputies say someone is calling people in the county asking for their bank information so they can be issued a new Medicaid card.

Don’t fall for it.  It’s a scam.

Deputies remind people to never give out personal or financial information to someone you don’t know.

They add, if you have a loved one who may be vulnerable to a scam like this, check on them and remind them of safety tips to protect their identity and finances.
