Meadowbrook Park shooting victim dies from wounds

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Police are investigating a shooting victim who has succumbed to his injuries.

Around 10:24 p.m. Monday, January 25, Lexington officers were dispatched to Meadowbrook Park — the 300 block of Harvard Drive — for a report of shots fired with a victim being struck, the department said.

Upon arrival, officers found a 20-year-old man who had been shot. Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn identified the victim as Kobe Persley, who died at about 5:24 a.m. Thursday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center from multiple gunshot wounds.

Ginn labeled it a homicide. It’s the county’s sixth so far this year, according to police.
