McCreary Co. deputy back home after being shot
MCCREARY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A McCreary County Sheriff’s deputy that was shot in the line of duty last week is now back home.
Officials say Deputy Tyler Watkins approached a man in a car while answering to a domestic dispute call and investigators say the man opened fire on him.
Watkins underwent several surgeries at a Tennessee Hospital.
On Sunday, pictures were posted on Facebook showing Watkins back home.
A gofundme page has been set up for Watkins to help offset some of his expenses.
Officials say the man accused of shooting Watkins is 48-year-old Mark Dungan.
Dungan is still in jail.
