McConnell speaks out about Trump tariffs during visit to Northern Kentucky
BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell is speaking out against President Donald Trump’s tariffs, warning of the impact on everyday Americans.
During a stop in Boone County on Thursday, McConnell met with local business leaders to discuss how the tariffs are affecting the region’s economy.
“I think it’s important for everyone to understand that a trade war is ultimately paid for by taxpayers, by regular voters. The cause, impact, everything,” McConnell said.
McConnell’s comments come amid growing concern from Kentucky businesses over rising costs tied to ongoing trade disputes.
