Massive Lexington fire leaves garages, vehicles and house destroyed or damaged

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- An investigation is underway in Lexington following a massive early morning fire.

Crews were called out just after 4 a.m. to a fire in the 100 block of North Hanover Avenue.

When crews got there, they say heavy smoke and flames were coming from a detached garage.

Lexington Battalion Chief Jordan Saas says firefighters then discovered two other detached garages were also on fire, one next to a home.

By the time the fire was put out, he says three garages, seven vehicles and one house was either destroyed or had fire damage.

Fire investigators are trying to determine what may have started the fire.
