Manhunt in Clay County for shooting suspects

MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – A manhunt shut down part of a highway in Clay County Sunday night.

According to the Manchester Enterprise newspaper, Kentucky State Police, along with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department and the Manchester Police Department, were searching for two men they say shot a woman in the leg with a sawed-off shot gun.

US 421 South at Elk Creek was closed around 7:30 p.m. after the men were seen running into the nearby woods following the shooting.

It was re-opened two hours later.

Authorities are still looking for the men who they say are considered armed and dangerous.
