Man tells police he was beaten, robbed and shot

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police areb investigating a man who was beaten, robbed and shot early Monday morning.

Police found the man in the area of Newtown Pike and West Loudon Avenue after responding to a call of an assault victim at about 6:15 a.m., Lt. Jeremy Tuttle told the Lexington Herald-Leader. He’d been beaten and shot.

According to the newspaper, the man told police he had been forced into a maroon passenger car at the Thorntons gas station on North Broadway and Loudon Avenue and that once in the car, some men beat, robbed and shot him before dumping him in the area where he was found, the newspaper reported.

The man is being treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police did not know if the victim had a relationship with the suspects, according to the newspaper.
