Man suffers life-threatening injuries in collision with Berea truck driver
CALVERT CITY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Gilbertsville man suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision with a semi driven by a man from Berea, according to State Police.
The preliminary investigation shows 56-year old Patrick Lowe, of Berea, failed to yield right of way to a car driven by 28-year old Garrett Dossett, of Gilbertsville, according to KSP.
This happened around 5:43 p.m. Thursday at the ramp intersection of Highway 62 and I-24 in Marshall County, according to State Police.
Investigators say Lowe, who was driving a 2016 Freightliner tractor-trailer, was trying to turn left off of Highway 62 onto the ramp for eastbound I-24 at the time of the collision.
Garrett Dossett, who was driving a 2009 Pontiac Vibe, was airlifted from the accident scene to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, according to investigators.
Patrick Lowe was not injured, according to KSP.
Both men were wearing seat belts and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the accident, according to State Police.
