UPDATE: Coroner identifies man struck and killed by train in Clark County

UPDATE: (6/25/18, 12 p.m.) — Clark County Coroner has released the name of the man killed after being struck by a train over the weekend.

He is identified as 35-year-old Brandon Payton, of Winchester.

CLARK COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A person was hit and killed by a train overnight into Sunday in Clark County.

According to the Clark County Coroner, a white male was hit on the railroad tracks about a mile west of the Walley Corporation near the intersection of Corporate Drive and Enterprise Drive.

The coroner says he believes the victim was in his upper twenties to mid forties, but had no identification on him at the time of the accident.

An autopsy will be performed Monday in Frankfort.

This incident continues to be under investigation.
