Man Shows Up At Hospital With Gunshot Wound
Lexington police are trying to figure out exactly what happened after a man showed up at the University of Kentucky Hospital Emergency Room with a gunshot wound.
According to police officials, the victim told officers that he was walking near Trent Boulevard and Appian Way around 1 a.m. when another man approached him.
The victim said that the man asked him for money and then a cigarette. When the victim refused, he said the man pulled out a gun and shot him in the leg.
The victim was driven to UK Hospital by a friend.
Police officials said that when officers checked the area for a crime scene, they couldn’t find any evidence of a shooting.
The gunshot wound is non-life threatening, police said.
Police are investigating.
