Man sentenced to 15-years in Winchester woman’s death

MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man was sentenced to 15-years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter in a Winchester woman’s death in 2013, according to the Winchester Sun.

The newspaper reports 45-year old Lonnie Martin, of Stanton, was sentenced Friday.

Martin was jailed in July 2013, a month after Kyla Kline was last seen alive, according to the report.  Her body was found buried on a farm near the Montgomery-Clark County line.

The autopsy showed Kline had been beaten and stabbed, according to the newspaper report.

Martin still faces a murder charge in Clark County in connection to the 1995 death of his cousin, J.B. Martin, according to the Winchester Sun.  Winchester Police re-opened that case after Martin’s arrest in the Kline case, according to the newspaper.
