Man pleaded guilty for DUI crash the killed his mother

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Laurel County man pleads guilty for a DUI crash that killed his mother.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a jury has recommended a 15-year sentence for 37-year-old Chris Lee Francis for the September 2018 wreck.

Prosecutors say Francis was drunk when he crossed the center line and hit a truck head-on.

His mother 60-year-old Holly Francis was a passenger in his car.

The driver of the truck along with her passengers, a two-year-old and an infant were all injured.

Francis will be formally sentenced next week.
