Man, Originally Accused of Rape, Indicted on Burglary Charge

A Clark County man who allegedly tried to rape a woman in her 70s was indicted Friday on a lesser charge of burglary.

Travis Asher, 22, was initially accused in June of standing next to the woman with his pants off while she slept. According to the victim, Asher was a friend of her grandson’s and that’s how he got into her home.

The rape charge was later dropped and Asher was charged with second-degree burglary.

According to the Clark County Detention Center, Asher’s bond is set for $50,000.

There’s no word yet as to when he will appear again in court.
