Man leads police on high speed chase

HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (WTVQ)- State police have charged a Hopkins County man for fleeing police, driving under the influence, and more after he led troopers on a chase Friday night.

Troopers say 65-year-old James Morgan from Dawson Springs crashed his car, then continued driving.

Troopers say around 6:45 Friday, Morgan drove over one hundred miles per hour on KY 62 before that crash.

After it, he reportedly continued eastbound on KY 112 when he lost control of his car again and crashed into the garage of a home.

He then ran away on foot, but troopers caught up with him and he’s now in custody.

He is being treated for injuries at Baptist Health.
