Man injured at party charged after claiming deputies did it
GREENUP, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington man who claims he was roughed up by sheriff’s deputies last summer actually was injured at a party. Now he’s been arrested.
According to the Kentucky State Police, Donald Garrison contacted Kentucky State Policeon July 2 saying he’d been the victim of excessive force during an arrest at the hands of Greenup County Sheriff’s Department deputies.
KSP interviewed Garrison, who was sent to the U.K. Medical Center afterwards.
During the investigation and after talking to multiple witnesses, KSP investigators determined Garrison was involved in a physical altercation at a party that he had just left prior to being stopped and arrested, the KSP said.
Garrison reported to KSP the deputies caused the injuries when they arrested him, but video evidence and witnesses showed his injuries occurred at the party, according to the KSP.
Due to the evidence, Garrison has been arrested for falsely reporting an incident and lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center.
