Man shot by State Trooper is indicted

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) — According to State Police, a man has been indicted by a Franklin County Grand Jury after a police chase and shooting last Friday in Frankfort.

According to State Police, 38-year-old Zindell Lindle led them on a chase that ended in Frankfort, at the intersection of U.S. 127 and West Ridge Road.

They say that’s where they tried to make an arrest, but Lindle began to drive off, dragging State Trooper Jack Hedges with him.

Investigators say Trooper Hedges told Lindle to stop, and after he refused, Trooper Hedges shot him.

Lindle was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery.  Trooper Hedges was also treated at a hospital.

Lindle now faces charges of wanton endangerment against a police officer, fleeing and evading, resisting arrest, and two counts of being a persistent felony offender.

According to state police, their investigation is still ongoing.
