Man gets life for dealing drugs that led to overdose death
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Detroit man was sentenced to life in federal prison for dealing drugs, including some that led to an overdose death, according to prosecutors.
43-year old Shannon Hixon was convicted in July of supplying thousands of Oxycodone tablets to two people in Lexington, who took the drugs to Morehead and Salyersville to sell to dealers and users in those areas, according to prosecutors.
Hixon also supplied heroin and fentanyl to a group of users in Lexington, which included a lethal amount of fentanyl to an Army veteran who was in rehab, causing that person’s death, according to prosecutors.
Hixon had a previous drug trafficking conviction in Lexington in May 2004, according to court records.
