Man in custody for deadly shooting in October

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An arrest is made in a murder that happened back in October in Lexington.

Court documents say 30-year-old Robert McKissic shot and killed 51-year-old Anthony Carter on Jeffery Court on October 26, 2017.

Documents say a witness saw McKissic and Carter arguing then heard a “pop” and saw Carter clutching his chest.

The witness told police McKissic could be seen walking away toward Daniel Court. That same witness went out and tried to help Carter, who was taken to the hospital where he died.

Another witness reported hearing the gunshot then seeing a man run from the scene, dropping a cell phone near Daniel Court.

Police say they recovered a cell phone from the scene and traced it to McKissic.

McKissic was arrested in Michigan and was transported to back to Kentucky.

He was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center Tuesday.

He is charged with murder.
