Man Convicted In 2010 Murder In Lexington
A jury in Lexington found a man guilty in connection to a 2010 murder.
Terrence Sims was found guilty of shooting and killing Stephen Kavanaugh, 33, of Lexington, in June of 2010.
Police said Kavanaugh was found shot multiple times in the chest in an alley off Elsmere Park.
The case went unsolved for three years.
Police said DNA testing led them to Sims, who was in jail in Flint, Michigan on unrelated charges.
Court documents said Sims told investigators that Kavanaugh was shot after a fight during a drug deal.
The jury recommended a 35-year prison sentence for Sims.
