Man connected to Lincoln Co. dog mauling arrested on gun charges

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Danville police are reporting that they arrested 26-year-old Christopher Pope around 12:30 pm. Monday at a home on Harding Street in connection to a Boyle Co. warrant charging him with four counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Two other people at the home, Brittany Record and Jackie Luttrell, were also arrested and charged with hindering prosecution or apprehension.

Pope was arrested in late July after police say some of his dogs viciously attacked a Lincoln Co. woman, almost tearing off her arm.  He was accused of harboring a vicious animal, and cruelty to animals.  At the time, police say they found 12 dogs at Pope’s home, ranging from puppies to adults.

The dogs were taken to Danville-Boyle Co. Humane Society.
