Man Charged with Theft in Home Construction Project
A Richmond man who police said was hired to convert a garage and sun room into a living space in a home is now behind bars.
According to officers, Andrew Martin, 45, was paid $5,317 for the project in December, but never showed up to do the job after the check had cleared.
Police said the woman who hired Martin told them she had made numerous requests for him to begin the project on her home, but after several months of waiting, she filed a complaint at the end of June.
Martin was arrested on Wednesday and charged with theft by failure to make required disposition of property.
He has been lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
